Refund policy

2. How to Start a Return

Once your return request is reviewed and approved, we will provide you with instructions on how and where to send your item.
3. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If your item is damaged, defective, or if you have received the wrong item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at support@AussieHabitat.com.au.
Please include:
- Your order number
- A clear description of the issue
- Photos of the damaged or incorrect item
- A photo of the outer packaging
If your item is confirmed as damaged, defective, or incorrect, we will arrange one of the following at no cost to you:
- A full replacement sent to you
- A full refund to your original payment method
In these cases, you will not be required to pay return shipping costs.
4. Change of Mind Returns
We accept change of mind returns within 30 days of delivery. The following conditions apply:
- The item must be unused and in its original packaging
- The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable
- We recommend using a tracked shipping method as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit on their way back to us
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the outcome within 5 business days.
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned:
- Items that have been used, assembled, or are not in their original condition
- Items returned without prior authorisation from our support team
- Items returned after the 30-day return window without prior agreement
- Gift cards
6. Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different item, please return your original purchase under our return policy and place a new order separately. This ensures the fastest possible resolution for you.
7. Refunds
Once we have received and inspected your returned item, we will notify you by email whether your refund has been approved or declined.
If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please note that your bank or payment provider may take additional time to post the refund to your account.

8. Australian Consumer Law
Our Refund Policy does not exclude or limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Under the ACL, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
